Echinodorus ‘Marble Queen’ in Singapore Planted Tanks
‘Marble Queen’ is a fast-growing sword prized for its marbled, cream-and-green variegated leaves, which add a bright accent to the midground. Each leaf carries a unique speckled pattern, so a cluster brings real visual interest to an otherwise green layout. It is an easy plant overall and tolerates a wide temperature span, sitting comfortably in our warm 27-29C heaterless tanks once it has acclimated from emersed nursery growth.
As a vigorous sword it is hungry for nutrients, especially through the roots, so a rich substrate and root tabs keep the variegation crisp and prevent pale, deficient leaves. Plant the crown at substrate level without burying the growth point, and give it space, as a mature rosette reaches a fair size. Good lighting helps the marbling stand out. Trim faded outer leaves and pot up any daughter plants that appear on its flower stalks to grow your collection.
