Labisia Emblem Mata Urnulata Red for SG Vivariums

We stock the Red form of Labisia Emblem Mata Urnulata, prized for the warm reddish flush across its cupped, textured leaves. Though grouped with our stems, this Southeast Asian foliage plant performs best emersed in humid conditions, so we usually place it along the moist margins of a paludarium or riparium where its roots stay damp and the leaves sit in humid air. Singapore’s climate naturally provides the warmth and moisture it favours.

Pot it into an airy, free-draining mix and keep it evenly moist without flooding the crown. The red tones hold best under soft, diffused light; strong direct output tends to wash colour out and crisp the edges. Indoor temperatures around our usual 27-29C are comfortable without a chiller, though air-conditioning dries the surrounding air, so a covered display preserves humidity. We dechlorinate tap water before misting and prefer RO or rainwater for delicate fresh leaves.
