Rotala Florida Sunset (ramosior) for Vibrant Backgrounds

Rotala Florida Sunset, a form of Rotala ramosior, is a tall stem plant grown for its warm sunset tones that range through yellow, orange and pink under good conditions. Supplied as a tissue-culture cup, it arrives clean and pest-free, with healthy young shoots ready to plant straight into the background. Grouped at the rear of the tank it forms a colourful, bushy backdrop that adds real depth and a focal splash of warm colour to an aquascape.

To pull out those sunset shades rather than plain green, this Rotala wants strong light, CO2 and balanced nutrients, especially iron. In a low-tech tank it still grows but stays greener and leggier. Trim and replant the tops regularly to keep the stand dense and bushy. Singapore’s soft, slightly acidic dechlorinated tap water suits it, and warm 27-29C ambient is fine, so the heater question is about your livestock, not the plant.
