Attaching moss with ADA Moss Cotton in SG aquascapes
Moss Cotton is the thread we reach for when wrapping Christmas moss, Java moss or Willow moss onto driftwood and stone. The dark green colour blends into the moss so wraps stay almost invisible while the strands establish. Unlike fishing line or nylon, this cotton biodegrades on its own once rhizoids have gripped the hardscape, so there is nothing to cut away later and no risk of leaving plastic embedded in a maturing scape.
In Singapore’s warm tanks moss tends to attach quickly, often within two to three weeks, so the thread dissolving on schedule works in your favour. We suggest wrapping firmly but not so tight that you crush the strands, and keeping flow gentle over fresh wraps so loose fragments do not drift off. One 200m spool covers a lot of branches, making it economical for larger hardscape layouts.
