ANS Bio Block 1kg for Trickle, Sump and Pond Filtration in SG
Bio Block’s mini-pore structure packs a large effective surface into each lightweight piece, which is why it earns its place in trickle towers, top filters, sumps and pond boxes alike. The mildly alkaline character, sitting around pH 7.5, makes it useful in our local context where soft, slightly acidic tap water and tannin-leaching driftwood can let pH drift downward over time. Used as a buffering bio-media, it helps cushion those drops while hosting nitrifying bacteria.
That buffering tendency makes Bio Block better suited to goldfish, koi and African setups than to low-pH blackwater or sensitive shrimp tanks, so match the media to your livestock. In our 27-29C climate the bacterial colonies stay busy converting ammonia and nitrite, provided you keep flow steady and place the block after mechanical filtration. The seven-piece kilogram pack lets you split media across multiple trays or stage a sump easily.
Rinse only in dechlorinated water during servicing to protect the colony. See more in our filter media range, and read our beneficial bacteria explainer plus our nitrogen cycle guide to set it up properly.
