ANS 200um Micron Sock for Sump Filtration

This L-size 200 micron polypropylene sock, 7 inches across and 16 tall, is built for sump-based systems and drops straight into the matching ANS Sock Holder (L). At 200 micron it catches general debris and detritus while keeping flow strong, a sensible middle ground for most freshwater and reef sumps where a finer sock would clog too fast. We like it for HDB display tanks running an overflow into a cabinet sump, where it does the first pass of mechanical filtration.

Felt and mesh socks are consumables; in our warm climate a sump sock can blind off within days on a stocked tank, so most keepers rotate two or three and wash on a cycle. A quick cold rinse and the occasional hot soak restores flow. Swapping before it overflows keeps your sump tidy and stops bypassed gunk from reaching the return pump.
