Cryptocoryne Hudoroi in Singapore Planted Tanks
Cryptocoryne hudoroi is a more unusual crypt with distinctively textured, bullate leaves that bring real character to a shaded mid-ground. It is a touch more particular than the common wendtii types, rewarding stable water and gentle flow, but it remains an undemanding rosette plant that suits the soft, slightly acidic water most Singapore homes provide once the tap supply is dechlorinated. Its embossed leaf surface catches light beautifully against driftwood.
Plant it into a nutrient-rich substrate and resist the urge to keep relocating it, as crypts dislike disturbance and respond by melting. A root tab supports its heavy feeding through the roots, and modest light keeps the leaf texture compact rather than stretched. Given a settled spot it forms a slow, handsome clump that needs very little ongoing attention beyond the occasional trim of older leaves.
For rarer types see our rare cryptocoryne care guide, and if it melts our melting fix helps. Explore more in our live plants category.
