Like the well-known Cryptocoryne sp. ‘Flamingo’, Cryptocoryne affinis ‘Dark Orange’ is an attractive colour mutation with very good growth characteristics. The emersed leaves of this novelty are remarkably light green to even lemon-yellow in colour. In the aquarium, however, the true brilliance of colour is revealed with magnificent orange to brown-red tones. As with the stem form affinis, the care requirements are rather low. However, stronger lighting promotes compact growth with more intensive colouring. This water goblet is suitable for East African cichlids due to its tolerance of hard water.
