Angel Aqua DY-104 Round Plate Air Stone Explained
The DY-104 round plate sits flat on the substrate and releases bubbles across its whole face, giving a wide, gentle column rather than a single concentrated stream. We like this shape for breeding tanks, fry setups and hospital tanks where you want even surface agitation without a violent current pushing small fish around. Fired from AL2O3 ceramic, the plate produces genuinely fine bubbles, and the three diameters let you scale from a nano cube up to a larger display.
Strong surface movement matters more in Singapore than many beginners realise. At our steady 27-29C water temperature, gas exchange at the surface is what keeps oxygen topped up, and a round plate breaking the surface film helps prevent the oily, stagnant skin that builds in still tanks. Tuck the plate under a clump of moss or behind a rock so the bubbles rise discreetly. Rinse it when output weakens, as pores clog gradually with mulm and biofilm over time.
