Description
Eleocharis Acicularis is very common and thrives in almost all conditions in an aquarium. An open space without shading from other plants is still preferable.
After planting, the roots will start colonizing the surroundings, creating a beautiful carpet of 6-15 cm height. If the carpet grows too tall, you may carefully cut it back to the preferred height.

Eleocharis acicularis (Tropica 1-2-Grow!) Dwarf Hairgrass in Singapore
Common dwarf hairgrass is one of the most forgiving carpeting plants we stock, thriving across almost any planted-tank condition. This tissue-culture cup gives you clean, pest-free plantlets to split into small portions. After planting, the roots run outward and send up fresh blades, knitting into a grassy carpet roughly 6-15cm tall. It is an ideal first carpet for hobbyists who want a natural meadow look without the difficulty of finer species.
An open, unshaded position is best, as taller plants will quickly thin it out. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C tanks it grows readily with no chiller required, and our treated tap water suits it fine. If the carpet climbs taller than you want, simply trim it back to height and the cuttings encourage denser, lower runners. Good light and a nutritious substrate speed the spread considerably.
