The ANS Plant Tools Scissor Bend for Singapore Aquascapers

At 250mm with a curved blade, this stainless scissor is built for reaching into a planted tank without sinking your knuckles past the rim. The bend lets the cutting edge sit flat along the substrate, so you can trim a carpet level or snip stem bases cleanly while your forearm stays dry. We find the length suits the deeper 45-60cm tanks common in HDB and condo display setups, where a short pair of scissors leaves you fishing around blind.

Clean cuts matter more here than people realise. In warm 27-29C water, crushed or torn stems invite rot and melt far quicker than they would in a cooler tank, so a sharp curved blade that severs rather than bruises keeps trimmings healthy enough to replant. After each session we wipe the blades dry and store them open; even good stainless can spot if left wet in our humidity.
