At 245mm the straight version is the workhorse most planted-tank keepers reach for first. The long shaft means you can plant, reposition stems, and retrieve a dropped snail from a deeper tank without soaking your sleeve, and the fine sharp tips grip slender stems like rotala or pearlweed without crushing them. For general maintenance, pulling out a dead leaf or nudging a wood piece, the straight profile gives you the most natural, intuitive control.

Stainless construction means it shrugs off the constant damp of a Singapore fish room, but we still suggest drying it after each session rather than tossing it back wet, which keeps the points from spotting over time. The flat, springy arms close cleanly along their whole length, so even fiddly foreground plants stay pinched until you have seated them in the substrate.
