Growing Limnophila Aromatica Mini in Singapore Tanks
The mini form of Limnophila Aromatica stays more compact than the regular variety, which makes it a tidier rear-corner stem for the smaller cube and nano layouts most of us run in HDB flats. It pushes out finely whorled foliage that shifts toward purple-pink undersides when light and nutrients line up. Planted in dense bunches behind hardscape, it reads as a soft textured wall rather than leggy individual stems, giving an aquascape genuine depth from front to back.
Colour here is light-and-nutrient driven, not automatic. Under modest LED output our local tap water can grow it green; stronger lighting, steady CO2 and lean nitrate coax out the reddish tones. Our ambient 27-29C sits at the warm end of its comfort band, so it tends toward faster, softer growth that needs regular topping. Plant each stem individually with a few centimetres of spacing so the lower internodes still catch flow and don’t shade out.
