Rotala Najean for Fine-Textured SG Mid-Grounds

Rotala Najean is a fine-leaved stem plant we recommend for aquascapers who want delicate texture and a soft transition between foreground and taller backgrounds. Its slender leaves and willing branching create a feathery, layered look that suits nature-style layouts well. We find it a versatile mid-ground filler that softens the gap between low carpets and bold background stems in compact local tanks.

It is a medium-care, fast-growing plant that responds to good light and a steady nutrient supply with denser, more compact growth. In our warm 27-29C tanks it grows readily, and CO2 noticeably tightens the foliage and improves form. Because it grows quickly, it also helps absorb surplus nutrients while a new scape settles, which is handy during the algae-sensitive early weeks of any planted setup.
