How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
Keeping Bifasciatus Corydoras in Singapore
The Bifasciatus Cory is a peaceful, shoaling dwarf catfish that belongs in groups of six or more so it behaves naturally and forages busily across the tank floor. Like other corydoras, it has delicate sensory barbels, so a soft sand or smooth fine-gravel base is essential to prevent erosion and infection. We see far healthier, more active corys in local tanks that get the substrate right from the start rather than relying on coarse, sharp gravel.
Our ambient 27-29C suits this species comfortably, and most home tanks run it heaterless year-round. It prefers the soft, slightly acidic water our conditioned tap naturally provides, so always dechlorinate before water changes to neutralise chloramine. Keep these corys in a calm, well-oxygenated community with small tetras or rasboras, and feed sinking wafers plus occasional frozen treats so the bottom dwellers reliably get their fair share at feeding time.
