Keeping Corydoras sp. CW106 in Singapore
CW106 is one of the “C-number” Corydoras that catfish enthusiasts seek out for its distinctive patterning, and like all cories it is a peaceful, social bottom-dweller that should never be kept alone. We always advise a group of six or more so they shoal naturally and stay confident. In a community tank they spend the day busily sifting the substrate, which makes them genuinely useful as well as charming to watch.
The single most important detail for local keepers is the substrate: soft sand, not sharp gravel, so their delicate barbels stay healthy. Our tap water’s soft, slightly acidic profile suits Corydoras well, and most homes sit within their temperature comfort range without a heater, though they dislike the upper end of our 29C summers, so good surface agitation for oxygen matters. Acclimate slowly using the float-and-drip method to avoid shocking them.
Browse our other bottom feeders, and we strongly recommend our Corydoras sand-bottom aquascape guide and the broader Corydoras catfish care guide before adding them.
