Keeping Pulcher Corydoras in Singapore tanks
The Pulcher Corydoras is a charming dwarf cory that stays small and thrives in active little groups along the bottom of a community tank. Like all corydoras it is a sociable shoaler, so we always recommend keeping at least six together; in larger numbers they are bolder, more playful and far more rewarding to watch as they bustle across the substrate. Singapore’s warm 27-29C ambient suits them, and most indoor tanks keep this peaceful catfish comfortable without a heater.
The single most important detail is the bottom: corydoras forage constantly with delicate barbels, so a soft sand or smooth fine-gravel substrate keeps those barbels intact, while sharp gravel wears them down and invites infection. Feed sinking pellets, wafers and frozen foods so they get their share, and keep nitrate low with regular changes of conditioned tap water. Their soft, slightly-acidic local water preference is conveniently met by our standard tap once dechlorinated.
