Bucephalandra Claudia Care in Singapore

Claudia is an elegant Buce with narrow, elongated leaves that can develop dark green to bluish tones, giving a fine-textured accent on rockwork and driftwood. As with all Bucephalandra it is a tough Borneo rhizome plant, perfectly happy in our ambient 27-29C aquariums without a chiller. Its slow growth and modest footprint make it a natural fit for the nano and shrimp tanks that fill many local living rooms, where it adds detail without demanding constant maintenance.

Glue or tie the rhizome onto hardscape and keep it exposed above the substrate, since a buried rhizome rots in warm tap water. Care follows the same logic as Anubias: low to moderate light keeps the slow leaves clean while bringing out colour, and gentle, consistent flow prevents detritus from collecting. A short adjustment period after planting, sometimes with a little melt, is normal before the rhizome resumes pushing fresh, fully adapted foliage.
