The Rio 400 is a serious statement tank, and one we only recommend once you have planned the space properly. With its bundled cabinet, twin LED bars and powerful internal filtration, it gives you the room for an impressive community or a deep aquascape, but the practical realities of a 400-litre tank in an HDB or condo home deserve careful thought before you buy.
Filled with water and substrate, this tank plus cabinet weighs well over half a tonne concentrated on one footprint, so floor loading is a genuine engineering question, not a formality, and you should site it against a load-bearing wall and confirm the base is perfectly level. The large volume does reward you with very stable water and steady 27-29C temperatures, ideal for sensitive stocking.
