Make sure the divider sits firm with no gap a fish could slip through, and note that male bettas may still flare at each other across the partition. Brief flaring is natural, but if one looks constantly stressed, add a visual barrier between sides. Singapore’s warm ambient often keeps these tropical fish comfortable without a heater, but always dechlorinate tap water and change small volumes frequently, since compact compartments concentrate waste quickly.
