ANS Cooling Fan 3000
Cooling a tank with the ANS Cooling Fan 3000 in our climate
Singapore tanks sit at ambient 27-29C most of the year, and during a hot afternoon a closed nano or planted tank can creep past 30C, which stresses shrimp and many soft-water fish. A surface fan like the ANS Cooling Fan 3000 clips onto the rim and blows across the water, driving evaporative cooling that typically pulls temperature down a few degrees, often enough to keep sensitive livestock comfortable without committing to a chiller.
It is the practical middle option for HDB and condo setups where a chiller plus its plumbing and heat exhaust is overkill. Expect faster evaporation, so top up with dechlorinated water more often and watch your nano tank’s level daily. Angle the airflow across the whole surface, and pair it with a timer so it runs through the warmest part of the day rather than cooling the tank overnight when it is unnecessary.
