Cichlids range from gentle grazers to assertive hunters, and this slow-sink formula suits the many species that prefer to feed in the mid-water column rather than picking off the surface or the floor. With fish meal, shrimp, squid, cherry shrimp and spirulina, it supports growth, immunity and the bold colours that make cichlids such popular display fish. In Singapore’s warm tanks cichlids are active and hungry, so feed measured amounts two to three times daily and avoid the temptation to over-feed energetic beggars. Excess food fouls water fast at 28C and aggravates the territorial squabbles cichlids are known for. Match feeding to your stocking, run strong filtration for their heavier waste output, and dechlorinate every water change to counter our chloraminated tap.
