Description

Pro Picker is a tool to remove algae stuck on the driftwood and stones. Even the black beard type algae can be scraped off without trouble. It can remove the algae in a tight spot where toothbrush or nail cannot reach, such as the end of driftwood or the spot on stone.

Removing stubborn algae with the ADA Pro Picker

The Pro Picker is the precision tool we hand customers who are losing the fight against algae welded to driftwood and stone. Where a toothbrush is too soft and bulky, this pointed instrument scrapes off tough growth, including the dreaded black beard algae, and reaches the tight crevices, branch tips and stone hollows that other tools simply cannot get into. For hardscape-heavy SG aquascapes, it lets you spot-clean precisely without uprooting plants or disturbing the whole layout.

Black beard algae thrives where flow and CO2 are unstable, both common in our warm tanks, so we treat the Pro Picker as half the solution: scrape the visible growth, then fix the underlying conditions. Many hobbyists here scrape, then dose a touch of hydrogen peroxide on the spot for a stronger knockdown. Work gently near delicate moss and rinse the tool after use so you are not transferring fragments around the tank.
