Description
Wood Tight is a vinyl covered wire, temporarily fix ferns and Anubias until the plant spreads their roots on the driftwood. The brown wire is barely-noticeable in the aquarium layout. After fixing water plants, it is easy to cut and remove by scissors.
ADA Wood Tight (10m) for Securing Epiphytes on Hardscape
Wood Tight is the quiet workhorse of any planted setup that uses driftwood. This vinyl-coated wire lets you lash Anubias, Bucephalandra and ferns onto wood or rock until their rhizomes anchor naturally, usually over several weeks. Because the coating is a muted brown, it disappears into the layout far better than the bright green twist ties many beginners reach for, so your scape looks intentional from day one rather than cluttered with visible fixings.
In Singapore tanks we find Wood Tight especially handy because our warm 27-29C water encourages quick rhizome growth, meaning plants grip fast and you can snip the wire away sooner. It also resists rust, so it holds up to repeated trimming and rescaping without staining the wood. A 10m roll goes a long way across multiple pieces of hardscape, and any leftover offcuts store cleanly without degrading.
