Using the JXA-004 long siphon cleaner for water changes

The long-body version of this gravel siphon is built for taller and larger tanks, where a short siphon won’t reach the substrate from a comfortable standing position. The wider, longer tube lets you vacuum detritus out of the gravel bed while draining water in one pass, which is the single most effective routine maintenance you can do. In Singapore’s warm tanks, organic waste breaks down fast and feeds algae and nitrate, so pulling it from the substrate weekly keeps water genuinely cleaner than surface skimming ever will.

We tell customers to pinch off flow before the tube fills with substrate, then let the lighter gravel drop back while debris carries away.
