Description
BRIGHTY K is a liquid fertilizer for supplying potassium to a planted aquarium. When potassium is insufficient, the photosynthesis activity and growth of aquatic plants are affected, and this can cause yellowing and bleaching of leaves as well as lower resistance to algae. Daily application of BRIGHTY K to the aquarium eliminates these problems caused by potassium deficiency and promotes growth of aquatic plants. BRIGHTY K also has an effect of enhancing the buffering capacity of water and prevents a decline in the pH of aquarium water.
*BRIGHTY K is strongly alkaline. The pH of aquarium water may rise temporarily immediately after this product is applied, but it will eventually return to the original level.
ADA Brighty K Potassium Supplement for SG Planted Tanks
Brighty K is a liquid potassium fertiliser we recommend as a daily staple for planted aquariums. Potassium is one of the first nutrients plants run short on, and a deficiency shows up as yellowing, pinholing and bleached leaves along with weaker resistance to algae. Dosing Brighty K keeps photosynthesis and growth on track, and the manufacturer notes it also helps buffer the water, supporting more stable conditions in a heavily planted display.
Our local soft tap water tends to be low in dissolved minerals, so potassium is something hobbyists here genuinely need to add rather than rely on from the source. A small daily dose suits the steady, year-round growth our warm 27-29C tanks produce. Watch your stems and broad-leaved plants for the tell-tale yellowing and pinholes, and adjust the dose to your plant mass and lighting rather than overdoing it from the start.
