How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
Keeping the Thai Micro Crab in Singapore
The Micro Crab (Limnopilos naiyanetri) is a tiny, fully freshwater crab that stays under a centimetre and lives peacefully among plants and moss. Unlike most aquarium crabs it needs no land area, spending its life filter-feeding and grazing biofilm with feathery front limbs. That makes it a brilliant, low-impact resident for a nano or shrimp tank, though its size means it disappears unless the scape is dense and the tankmates are gentle.
Keep them only with nano fish or shrimp that won’t predate them; anything large will treat a micro crab as a snack. They thrive in stable, mature water with plenty of moss and leaf litter to graze and hide in. Singapore’s warm room temperature suits them, and like shrimp they dislike copper and sudden parameter swings, so dechlorinate tap water and acclimate slowly by drip.
