This 36-45cm branchy piece gives a layout reach and movement, its forked limbs drawing the eye outward in a way chunky bogwood cannot. It is a strong choice for a mid-to-large display where you want a tree-like or fallen-branch impression, and it pairs naturally with moss and epiphytes lashed along the branches. As natural wood, every piece varies in shape, so dry-fit it before committing to a final arrangement.

New driftwood leaches tannins, which gently tint the water amber and nudge pH down, often a welcome effect in our soft local water for tetras, rasboras, apistos and wild bettas. If you prefer clear water, soak or boil the wood first and run carbon. Branchy wood also tends to float at first, so weigh it down or wedge it under rockwork until it waterlogs over a week or two in our humid conditions.
