ANS Malayan Driftwood SS (15-20cm) for Nano Scapes

The SS grade is the smallest cut at 15-20cm, sized for pico and nano tanks, bowls, shrimp jars and as fine detail twigs in a bigger layout. These short pieces are ideal when you want the look of exposed roots or a weathered branch tip without overwhelming a tiny footprint, which is handy for desk and shelf tanks common in space-tight SG flats. The wood still releases tannins, gently tinting and softening the water.

Because the pieces are light, they bob persistently until waterlogged, so we often tie or wedge them under a stone for the first week or two rather than fighting them daily. A brief boil speeds sinking and pulls the first tannin flush if you prefer clear water. In our warm tanks expect a little biofilm early on; shrimp graze it readily, making SS wood a natural fit for a dedicated shrimp display.
