SUDO E-5 Dokan Medium Ceramic Breeding Pot
The E-5 Dokan is the medium size of SUDO’s handmade ceramic spawning tube at 155x85x90mm, sitting between the large E-4 and the smaller Tako pots. That tighter bore suits smaller bristlenose, smaller catfish and shrimp colonies, where a male wants a cave just big enough to wedge in and guard a clutch. Being fired ceramic, it’s chemically inert and won’t nudge your water parameters, which keeps things simple in Singapore’s naturally soft, slightly acidic tap supply.
We rate these over rough resin caves because the smooth glaze can’t scrape a fish working in and out to fan eggs. Soak and sink it fully before placing, then tuck the opening into a shaded, low-flow corner where a breeding pair feels secure. Even outside breeding season it earns its keep as a refuge for nervous fish and a daytime hideout for shrimp, which means more confident, visible animals at feeding time and less stress in a busy community tank.
