SUDO S-893 Small Breeder Cave for Dwarf Plecos and Shrimp

The small S-893 ceramic cave suits dwarf plecos, smaller bristlenose and shrimp colonies that want a tight, dark retreat. The handmade ceramic is dense and inert, sinking on its own and holding position without floating loose. The narrow bore is the key feature for cave-spawning catfish, giving a male the snug, enclosed chamber he instinctively defends when fanning and guarding a clutch of eggs.

At around 115mm it tucks neatly into nano and mid-sized layouts that are common in our space-conscious flats. Position the opening in a shaded spot away from direct flow and bright light to make it more attractive as breeding territory. In our consistently warm rooms at 27 to 29C, plecos breed readily once they have the right cave, so keeping one in place pays off.
