Bucephalandra Broad Wavy Care in Singapore
Broad Wavy is one of the more distinctive Buce forms we carry, with wider leaves that ripple along the edges and catch light in a way that gives a planted scape real depth. Like all Bucephalandra it is a hardy rhizome plant native to Borneo, and it settles comfortably in our ambient 27-29C tanks without a chiller. Slow growth means it stays exactly where you place it, which suits the compact nano and shrimp tanks so many local hobbyists keep at home.
Attach the rhizome to rock or driftwood with glue or thread and leave it exposed, because a buried rhizome rots quickly in warm water. Buce care closely mirrors Anubias, so low to moderate light and gentle flow are all it needs; high light only triggers algae on the slow leaves. New plantings sometimes drop a few leaves before adapting, which is normal as the plant converts to your conditions, after which fresh growth emerges from the rhizome.
