Bucephalandra Brownie Ghost Ulu Kapus in SG Tanks

Brownie Ghost Ulu Kapus is a locality variant of the popular Brownie Ghost, named for its Borneo collection origin and prized for the ghostly pale-to-bronze cast its leaves can develop. It is a hardy rhizome plant that settles into our ambient 27-29C aquariums with no chiller, and its slow growth keeps it compact and tidy. That makes it a rewarding accent for the nano and shrimp tanks many Singapore hobbyists run, where the textured leaves also become grazing surfaces for shrimp.

Attach the rhizome to rock or driftwood and keep it above the substrate, since a buried rhizome rots in warm tap water. Care follows the Anubias model closely: low to moderate light brings out the subtle colour while keeping algae off the slow foliage, and gentle, steady flow prevents detritus build-up. A brief settling period with a little leaf loss after planting is normal before the rhizome resumes pushing growth adapted to your conditions.
