Bucephalandra Brownie Brown for SG Aquascapes
Brownie Brown is a warm-toned Buce from the popular Brownie collection, showing bronze and brown hues that deepen under stable conditions and contrast handsomely with green plants and dark wood. It is a hardy Borneo rhizome plant that handles our year-round 27-29C water with no temperature control, and its slow, compact growth makes it ideal for the small planted and shrimp tanks common in Singapore flats. Shrimp also enjoy grazing the biofilm that forms across the textured leaves.
Treat it like Anubias: glue or tie the rhizome to rock or driftwood and keep it above the substrate, since burying it leads to rot in warm tap water. Low to moderate light brings out the colour while keeping algae off the slow foliage, and gentle, consistent flow keeps detritus from settling. A short adjustment period with a little leaf loss is normal after planting before the rhizome pushes new, fully acclimated growth.
