Description
Common Name: Bucephalandra Green Wavy
Buce Green Wavy is a farm-grown variant of Bucephalandra that’s been gaining popularity. It can be characterized by the bright green ruffled leaves which can range from about .75 – 1.0 inches. The plant is very slow growing, with new leaves sprouting from long, thin rhizomes. It can be propagated by cutting the rhizome and attached to driftwood and rocks using super glue gel or thread.
Notes:
Bucephalandra is an epiphytic aquarium plant so it can be attached to aquarium hardscape.
Do not plant Bucephalandra in substrate and cover the rhizome. This will cause it to melt and rot.
Bucephalandra’s final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the aquarium Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
Please be sure to remove this plant from its pot. Remove the cotton surrounding the roots and plant accordingly. For instructions on how to properly prep “potted” aquarium plants, click here.
CO2 injection will yield better growth.
Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.

Bucephalandra Green Wavy for Singapore Planted Tanks
Green Wavy earns its name from the bright, ruffled leaf edges that catch the light beautifully in a planted display. It is a farm-grown variant that has become a Singapore favourite for adding a lively green texture among darker buce and anubias. Supplied clean as a pot or tissue-culture cup, it slots neatly into nano and mid-sized tanks alike, and the rippled foliage reads especially well when placed where shrimp graze across it.
Like all buce, treat it as an epiphyte: attach the rhizome to hardscape and never bury it. In our 27-29C ambient water it needs no chiller, and our soft chloraminated tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Expect slow growth, so a single healthy plant is a long-term investment rather than a quick fill. Moderate light brings out the green tone best, while gentle flow over the rhizome keeps detritus from settling and triggering rot.
