Description

Aquarium plant from tissue culture in closed cup.
Anubias barteri var. nana is a small, attractive plant which thrives in all conditions. It originates from Cameroon and will reach 5-10 cm height. The rhizome will be 10-15 cm or more. It grows slowly, and the leaves survive for several years, giving slow-growing algae the chance to become established. The best result is achieved by planting on a stone or tree root. Fishing line can be used to attach the plant until it gains a hold. If planted on the bottom the rhizome must not be covered because it tends to rot. It flowers frequently under water. It is not eaten by herbivorous fish.

Tropica Anubias Barteri Nana 1-2-Grow! in the Local Hobby

The 1-2-Grow! format delivers Anubias barteri var. nana as tissue culture in a sealed cup, which means it arrives clean and entirely free of snails, algae and the pest hitchhikers that worry many Singapore hobbyists. You get several small plantlets per cup, perfect for spreading across multiple pieces of hardscape or sharing across tanks. It’s one of the most beginner-proof plants we stock and a reliable first epiphyte.

Nana stays small, reaching only 5-10cm, and thrives across a wide range of conditions, which suits our warm ambient water and low-tech tanks beautifully; no CO2 or strong lighting is required. As with every Anubias, tie or glue the rhizome to stone or driftwood and never bury it, since a covered rhizome will rot. Rinse the gel from the roots before planting and give it time to anchor.
