The JENECA AE Series Canister Filter with Built-In UV
The AE-series canisters pair multi-stage filtration with an integrated UV lamp, a combination that suits Singapore tanks where warm water encourages both biofilm and free-floating algae. The built-in UV clears the suspended microbes and green-water haze that plague bright HDB and balcony-side aquariums, while the canister handles mechanical and biological duty out of sight in the cabinet. We recommend matching the model to your tank volume with headroom, since stuffed media and our nutrient-rich water gradually slow flow. Rinse mechanical sponges in old tank water to protect your bacteria from chloramine, and plan a UV bulb swap every 8-12 months because lamps fade long before they go dark. After a monsoon outage, reseal and re-prime the canister carefully so it self-starts and the biological bed recovers quickly.
