Shiruba XB305 canister filter for nano and small tanks
The XB305 steps up from the XB303 with greater flow and media capacity, making it the better pick when your nano leans toward the larger side or carries a heavier stock of fish and plants. It keeps the same simple vacuum priming and compact, quiet canister format, so it stays beginner-friendly while giving bacteria more room to work. For a small planted tank that you expect to mature and fill out, the extra capacity pays off.
In Singapore’s warm water, biological demand is high and a slightly larger canister buys you headroom before you ever risk an ammonia spike. We suggest choosing between the XB303 and XB305 honestly by tank size and bioload rather than always sizing down to save space. Set the media coarse-to-fine, and clean it in old tank water during changes so our chloraminated tap doesn’t wipe out the colony you’ve grown.
