Using the NF Plant Cup in Your SG Planted Tank

The NF Plant Cup is a nutrient supplement for rooted aquatic plants, and we recommend it to keepers whose foreground carpets and heavy root-feeders like crypts, swords and bulb plants are growing in inert gravel or sand. Placed at the roots, it puts nutrients exactly where these plants take them up, rather than relying on the water column alone. It’s formulated to be safe for fish and shrimp when used as directed, which matters in a stocked community tank.

Many Singapore hobbyists run low-tech planted tanks without CO2 in warm 27-29C water, and in that style root feeding is often the missing piece that turns pale, stalled plants into lush growth. Go in measured: over-fertilising a warm tank with limited plant mass is a reliable way to feed algae instead, so dose to the plants you actually have and watch how they respond over the following weeks.
