ANS High Intensity Filter Wool 60x40cm for SG Filters

This dense filter wool is the fine mechanical layer we reach for when water needs that final polish, trapping the very fine particulate and detritus that coarser sponges let slip through. The 60x40cm sheet is generous enough to cut down to fit canister trays, sump compartments or hang-on baskets, so a single piece kits out several filters. It works equally in freshwater, planted and marine setups, which makes it a handy thing to keep on the shelf.

In Singapore’s warm water, biological activity is brisk and fine debris accumulates quickly, so a polishing layer like this keeps your view crystal clear between water changes. Because the wool is soft and porous, beneficial nitrifying bacteria colonise it too, giving a small biological bonus. We suggest siting it after your coarser mechanical media and rinsing it in old tank water a few times before it is too clogged to recover, then replacing once it thins out.
