JBL Fine Filter Bags for Tidy Canister Media
These fine-mesh nylon bags are a small accessory that makes canister and sump maintenance far less messy. You load loose media, fine substrates, resins or polishing pads, into the bag, and lift the whole lot out in one go to rinse or replace instead of scooping handfuls and losing media down the drain. Each bag takes roughly half a litre to one and a half litres, and the nylon is water-neutral so it won’t leach anything into the tank.
The 0.5mm mesh is sized for finer media, and the sealing clip keeps everything contained even when you’re swishing the bag in a bucket of old tank water. In our warm climate biofilm and mulm build quickly inside a canister, so being able to pull media out cleanly encourages the regular gentle rinsing that keeps flow rates up.
