Description
BioCarb – Carbon Sponge
JUWEL Carbon Sponges absorb odour compounds and turbidity as well as toxic compounds in your aquarium, leaving the water crystal clear. The fact that active charcoal in the form of a sponge is used guarantees even flow conditions for the filter medium, creating a very large and therefore highly effective surface.
Due to these characteristics JUWEL charcoal filters are also perfect for filtering out residual medication after treating your fish.
They are available in three sizes, in packs of two.

JUWEL BioCarb Activated Charcoal Sponge in SG
BioCarb is JUWEL’s activated-charcoal sponge, shaped to slot straight into a Bioflow chamber so carbon sits in even, uniform flow rather than channelling like loose granules can. We reach for it in two situations: clearing tannin stains and faint odours from new driftwood, and stripping out residual medication after a treatment course has finished. In both cases it brings water back to crystal clarity quickly.
One thing we always tell customers here is that carbon is not a permanent resident in the filter. It exhausts over a few weeks, after which it simply takes up space that biological media could use. Run it when you have a specific job to do, then swap back to bio media. If you keep planted JUWEL tanks, remember carbon will also pull some liquid fertiliser, so time your dosing around it.
