Description
Tank filter material is a material specially used for purifying water quality of fish tank. It is processed through scientific process. It has the characteristic of micropores, and is very suitable for the attachment and mass propagation of beneficial nitrifying bacteria. It establishes a healthy water quality nitrification systems, decomposes harmful ammonia and nitrite water, and purifies water quality.
Features:
Purified water quality
Strong adsorption
Stable water
Improve ecology
Cube measurement : 11.2 x 11.2 cm
Activated Carbon Filter measurement: 10 x 10 x 10 cm
Using NF Magic Cube Activated Carbon Media in SG Tanks
These 10x10mm porous cubes do double duty: the activated carbon adsorbs dissolved organics, tannins and the slight discolouration that can creep into a tank, while the micropore structure gives nitrifying bacteria a huge surface to colonise. We recommend carbon media to keepers who want polished, clear water, and especially to anyone dosing fish medication and needing to strip the residue out afterwards before it lingers.
A practical note for our local water: chloraminated Singapore tap can carry chloramine through into a tank if you skip conditioner, and while carbon helps adsorb some chlorine compounds, we still tell customers to dechlorinate every water change properly rather than rely on the media alone. Activated carbon also exhausts over time, so plan to refresh it every few weeks; once it’s saturated it simply stops adsorbing and just acts as biomedia.
