Oase Pond Pads used within a moving bed system provide a maintenance-free, self-cleaning filter medium. The Oase Pond Pads will achieve a neutral floating behaviour after approx. 6-10 week run-in time depending on water temperature and load.

OASE PondPads 10 L Moving-Bed Filter Media in Singapore

OASE PondPads are a high-surface-area biological filter medium designed to run in a moving-bed system, where they tumble in aerated water to stay self-cleaning and largely maintenance-free. In Singapore’s warmth, where pond and tank water sits at 27-29C and bacteria stay active all year, that enormous colonisable surface area is genuinely useful: it gives beneficial bacteria the room to process ammonia and nitrite quickly, which is exactly what a heavily fed koi pond or busy filter needs to stay stable in our climate.

The pads take roughly six to ten weeks to reach neutral buoyancy and start tumbling properly, and that run-in time runs faster here because our consistently warm water speeds bacterial colonisation. They suit the ProfiClear Compact moving-bed module and similar setups. As with any biomedia, resist the urge to scrub or replace it casually, since the whole point is the living bacteria population it carries; let the tumbling action do the cleaning instead.
