Odyssea FP-06 Carbon Wool for SG Aquariums

This carbon-impregnated wool gives you mechanical filtration plus a dose of activated carbon in one cut-to-fit sheet. We find it handy when hobbyists want to clear tannins from driftwood, pull out medication after treatment, or polish water before guests come over. You simply cut the panel to match your top filter, canister tray or sump compartment instead of hunting for a pad that fits an odd local cabinet build.

Remember the carbon component is a finite resource. It adsorbs organics and discolouration quickly, then becomes inert mechanical wool after a few weeks, so plan to swap it rather than rinse-and-reuse indefinitely. In our warm 27-29C tanks, dissolved organics climb fast in a heavily fed community setup, so we usually recommend running carbon wool as a periodic clean-up rather than a permanent fixture, especially in planted tanks where you do not want it stripping nutrients.
