Fitting the ANS R-Flo Inlet on Your Canister Filter

The R-flo inlet is the intake half of a glass-style pipe set, drawing water from your tank back to the canister. Hobbyists here choose it for the clean look on a rimless planted layout, where chunky plastic strainers spoil the scape. The slotted intake keeps larger debris and curious fish out of the impeller while letting a steady volume through, so your mechanical and biological media stay fed without the pump straining or whistling.

Match the inlet diameter to your existing tubing before ordering, as a loose fit invites air leaks and a tight one risks cracking the glass during assembly. In our warm 27-29C rooms, soaking the hose end in hot water for a minute makes it pliable enough to seat without forcing.
