The XP-01C is purpose-built for turtle keeping, with a strong 1000L/hr flow and four filter compartments to handle the heavy, messy waste that turtles and terrapins produce. We recommend it because standard fish filters are almost always under-gunned for reptiles; the extra media volume and high turnover here are exactly what you need to keep ammonia in check in a low-water turtle setup. The four chambers let you layer mechanical and biological stages properly.

Turtle tanks in Singapore often run at lower water levels, so check the unit sits within its working depth and primes reliably. Our warm 27-29C ambient means many common terrapins need little or no supplemental heating for the water, which simplifies the setup, though you’ll still want a proper basking spot. Expect to rinse the mechanical stage often, since turtle waste loads the filter far faster than a planted community tank would.
