Replacing the UVC Bulb in Your OASE Clarifier

A UVC bulb is a consumable, not a permanent part. Even while it still glows, the germicidal output that actually clears green water and knocks back free-floating algae fades long before the lamp dies. In Singapore’s warm, bright conditions, where a sunny HDB window or balcony pond can trigger green-water blooms within days, that gradual drop-off is easy to miss until clarity slips. Swapping in a fresh original OASE bulb restores the device to its rated sterilising strength.

We recommend logging the install date so you can plan replacement around the lamp’s service-hour rating rather than waiting for visible cloudiness. Always cut power and let the unit cool before opening it, handle the new bulb by its base to keep skin oils off the glass, and check the quartz sleeve for scale or biofilm while you have it apart. A clean sleeve lets the full UV dose reach the water passing through.
