The UP Aqua D-622M Undergravel Filter for Mini Tanks

This M-size undergravel plate sits beneath your substrate and pulls water down through the gravel bed, turning the whole base of the tank into a large biological filter. Driven by an air pump or powerhead, it keeps oxygen and water moving through the substrate so nitrifying bacteria can thrive there, which helps stabilise water quality and supports a healthier stocking density. Sized for mini and small tanks, it suits the compact setups common in SG homes.

Undergravel filtration shines for keepers who want a simple, low-equipment system, and run off an air pump it has the same monsoon-season advantage as other air-driven gear, staying active on a battery-backed pump when mains power drops. The extra circulation through the bed also aids gas exchange, useful in our warm 27-29C water that holds less oxygen. We do suggest periodic gravel vacuuming so detritus does not clog the plate over time.
