The D-762 runs off an air pump rather than a motor, which makes it one of the gentlest, most reliable filters we sell for shrimp tanks, fry grow-outs and quarantine setups. There is no impeller to suck in babies, and with no motor in the water it adds almost no heat, a small but real advantage when our tanks already sit at 27-29C. It also gives you both filtration and surface agitation from a single airline.

Because it is air-driven, it keeps working as long as your pump runs, and a battery backup pump can carry it through a monsoon-season power cut to protect your livestock. The sponge becomes a thriving bacteria bed, so treat it gently. Rinse it only in dechlorinated or old tank water, never under the tap, to keep the colony intact and your water parameters steady.
